Since the conquest of Mount Everest in 1953 by legendary climbers Tenzing and Hillary. The Lukla airport is named Tenzing & Hillary in tribute to great mountaineers and explorers. As well as the pioneers to present Everest base camp and the South Col route to the summit of Mt. Everest.  

Walk along the gradual path following Dudh Koshi River through nice villages, spending overnights in the best lodges at Phakding. The adventure continues towards the famed Namche Bazaar, on entering the Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo village facing views of snow-capped peaks. The name Sagarmatha for Everest in Nepal, the native Sherpa calls Chomolungma, means ‘Great Mother’ in both languages.

Trek follows crossing bridges on a pleasant trail covered in dense forest of tall rhododendron, pine, oaks, and silver firs trees. Walk on an undulating uphill path facing views of Mt. Everest and surrounding peaks of Kongde, then reaching at Namche Bazaar. A famous and popular large village almost a size of a town offers various facilities. From luxury hotels, resorts high standard restaurants, cafés, banks with many well-stocked stores and shops.

Glorious views of Kongde peaks at close distance, further up from Namche one can enjoy the panorama of mountains. Includes views of Mt. Everest and magnificent Ama Dablam with a series of peaks, visit the museum of great cultural interest.

From Namche climb higher facing eagle-eye views of Namche Bazaar then reaching Everest View Hotel. The first and the highest luxury deluxe hotels ever built in the late 1970s at 3,880 m high. Facing views of Mt. Everest enjoying a warm cup of refreshment relaxing on the hotel's lawn or balcony.


After an enjoyable moment along with gorgeous views, the trek continues heading on the main trail to Everest base camp. Down and up towards a beautiful spot at Tengboche located amidst serene forest surroundings, encircled by towering snow peaks. Tengboche with a famous magnificent monastery stands high above facing grand views of Everest and Ama Dablam and a series of peaks.

An interesting tour of the monastery enriched with ancient Tibetan Buddhism artifacts, and idols of tall statues of Buddha. Staying in the comfort of a scenic location at Tengboche, the walk continues towards our next destination at beautiful Imjatse valley. A lovely settlement Dingboche is situated beneath Ama Dablam peak with many nice lodges for trekkers facing views of Island Peak.

Spending an extra day at Dingboche within picturesque Imjatse Valley, a perfect spot for rest and acclimatization days. Where one can take a short hike up to view-points to catch more dramatic scenery of towering snow-clad peaks.

The adventure continues from Dingboche heading closer to our main highlights with a slow climb to a small settlement at Lobuche. Hidden in a corner of the wide valley close to Khumbu glacier, facing views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.


From Lobuche onwards to Everest base camp, where the trail follows above Khumbu glaciers over the moraine of rocks and boulders. Then reaching Gorakshep on route to Everest base camp, situated beneath the rocky high Kalapathar hill.

After Gorakshep route leads east to the end of high Khumbu glaciated valley at Everest base camp. Stand beneath the towering Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse peaks, close to massif Khumbu Ice-Fall. During the high season of a mountaineering expedition, the base camp is flooded with tented camps of different nation climbers.

Enjoy the stupendous scenery similar to arctic zone-like landscapes, and then head back to Gorakshep. Next early morning the final steep climb of the adventure takes you to the famous Kalapathar rocky hill.  
 
Standing on top of Kalapathar, surrounded by a mind-blowing panorama of giant peaks with Mt. Everest at the nearest distance. Feeling in high spirits achieving all the highlights of the adventure and on the highest point of the trek.

Return journey downhill past Lobuche towards the scenic, windy valley of Pheriche a nice settlement with many good lodges. Slowly our adventure comes to an end heading back on the same scenic trail to Namche Bazaar. As walk finally ends on reaching Lukla for the last overnight around Khumbu and Everest area.

The next morning a sweeping short panoramic flight brings you to the hustle-bustle city life of Kathmandu. At Kathmandu, our marvelous adventure concludes after an overwhelming experience on Mount Everest Base Camp Trekking.

Best Seasons:
The best lively seasons for Mount Everest Base Camp Luxury trek or any other Himalayan destinations. Is the springtime of March to May and autumn/fall from September to November? In the spring season, the days are bright with longer sunshine hours, from morning till late afternoon. Most days are clear for views and pleasant walks, cold in the morning, late afternoon, and nighttime. Chances of snowfall sometimes, the forested hills will be bright with wildflowers in seasonal bloom till Tengboche.

Afternoon time around exposed areas can be windy, where the wind-chill factor adds extra cold. The next best time in autumn/fall, days are bright and clear for spectacular mountain views. Days are much shorter due to sunlight hours, much cold in the late afternoon till morning time. But clear starry night sky, chances of snowfall sometimes above 3,000 m higher.

For interested trekkers can venture during winter times of December to February also, but much colder morning and night time. From late morning and mid-afternoon bright and clear but shorter days due to sun-light hours with freezing temperatures. Where most lodges will be closed for winter, with fewer trekkers during the off-season in winter times.

Religions and Cultures:
The Sherpa follows the Nyingmapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism, as well similar the culture and custom of its Tibetan predecessor. From Lukla onwards following the trail through villages encountering religious monuments of prayer walls and spinning wheels. As well most villages have their monasteries, the oldest is in Thame, Khumjung, and Pangboche villages. The monastery of Tengboche is famous and popular as it is located on route Everest base camp. Trekkers can visit the monastery and observe the religious activities of monks and Lama the priest.

Every Sherpa house is adorned with prayer flag poles, as goodwill and guarding against evil spirits. The Sherpa’s main festival is Losar, the New Year is a similar time for Tibetans and Chinese falls in February or March. As per the Buddhist Lunar calendar, based on animals and bird cycle this year 2022 is the year of a Tiger.

The other major festival is Buddha’s birth anniversary held in May or at the end of April. At Tengboche, a colorful festival takes place called ‘Mani Rimdu’ interesting events held during the end of October or the first week of November.

The priest, monks dressed in colorful flashy costume-wearing masks dances to the beat of drums, trumpets, and cymbals. Scaring the evil spirits and welcoming a good prosperous harvest of crops and blessing the nature and mountain spirits.

Itinerary

On the first arrival at Kathmandu, Nepal’s international airport received by the company staff and guide, for a short drive to respective five-star hotels in the heart of the city. Briefing by the guide regarding the treks and other necessary information, after getting refreshed from the jet lag. Evening a welcome group dinner in a nice typical Nepalese restaurant, an introduction to Nepali foods with folk cultural program.

The morning after breakfast, join in for an exciting sightseeing tour at places of great cultural and historical interest. Tour of famous Hindu and Buddhist monuments listed in world heritage sites, and then back to the hotel for trek preparations.

Early morning, as per flight schedule for Lukla transfer to Kathmandu domestic air-terminal, and board in a small aircraft for a scenic short flight during air-borne grand views of Himalayan peaks with Mt. Everest. As the plane lands at Tenzing & Hillary Airport in Lukla, with time for rest and refreshment. Start the gentle walk downhill as the trail follows nice Sherpa villages with a few short ups and down to Phakding for an overnight halt in the comfort of nice luxurious mountain resorts.

A long day walks to Namche Bazaar, morning walk follows after a hearty breakfast on a pleasant trail. The route leads to cross a long bridge over Dudh Koshi River to Monjo village and then enter Sagarmatha National Park. The park is listed as a world heritage site, enriched with flora and fauna, capturing the world's highest peaks. From the park entrance a slow walk over the bridge to Jorsalle, for a possible lunch stop, before a big climb to Namche Bazaar. After lunch on a pleasant path then uphill, from the last bridge walk follows on winding up to Namche for overnight halt. Checking into a nice lovely hotel or resort with rooms facing views of Kongde peaks, Namche is a famous and popular spot for a rest day as well to support acclimatization.

At Namche having late breakfast, as morning leads to a short hike with a climb up to the old small airstrip at Syangboche. Leaving Namche Bazaar a steep up facing glorious views of snow-capped mountains with aerial views of Namche Bazaar. Once reaching the high ridge at Syangboche, walk gradually up within pine and rhododendron tree lines to the classic Everest View Hotel. The first Posh, deluxe and classy and world’s highest hotel ever built around high Khumbu and Everest area. Enjoy the stunning views from the hotel premises, and have lunch with the backdrop of Mt. Everest and majestic Ama Dablam. A great place for overnight halt as well for acclimatization, the hotel is located on a high ridge above the glacial valley of Khumjung and Khunde villages and Namche Bazaar.

After a wonderful morning view of Everest with a good breakfast, depart from the hotel downhill to Khumjung village. As a walk follows down to the main trail at Sanasa village downhill to Imjatse River at Phunki-Tenga. A small settlement in the middle of a forest, a favorite spot for a lunch stop if coming directly from Namche Bazaar. Having a refreshing break, start to climb towards Tengboche within a serene forest of tall rhododendron and pine trees till Tengboche is reached. A beautiful spot Tengboche with an impressive monastery, surrounded by high peaks with views of Everest and Ama Dablam at close distance. With time at Tengboche short tour of the monastery interior of great cultural and religious interest, a short downhill to Deboche for an overnight stop. Deboche offers the best lodge accommodation on the route to Everest base camp and Dingboche.

Enjoy the morning's glorious views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam, having a nice breakfast in a sunny garden. Morning walks down to a bridge, on leaving the lush green vegetation and tall tree lines for mountain barren wilderness. A slow climb to Pangboche, the last permanent village on route Everest base camp. The other night stops on the route are temporary settlements to cater to the traveler’s comforts. From Pangboche walk up to Somare, then following east down to a stream, with a climb to Imjatse valley at Dingboche. A beautiful scenic Imjatse valley, where Dingboche is located with many nice lodges, facing views of Island Peak, and Ama Dablam at close distance.

A perfect place for a rest day within a beautiful location, after breakfast a short hike up to a scenic hilltop. Walking up and downhill supports acclimatization as well to enjoy a superb panorama of towering peaks. Overlooking as far towards Mt. Makalu, Island Peak with majestic Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Nuptse peaks. Rest of the day relax and enjoy a stroll around Dingboche, nice settlements within scenic Imjatse valley.

After a pleasant time at Dingboche, a short walk up to a ridge and then on slow gradual uphill to Thugla. A small and perfect spot for lunch and refreshment before a steep climb to Thugla small pass. This is the place where Khumbu glaciers melt to a raging stream, as well the junction of Dingboche and Pheriche trails. From Thugla a climb of less than an hour reaching a high ridge, a place with memorial monuments of unfortunate climbers. After a short rest continue to walk on a gradual path to Lobuche, a small settlement with several nice lodges. After a pleasant time at Dingboche, a short walk up to a ridge and then on slow gradual uphill to Thugla. A small and perfect spot for lunch and refreshment before a steep climb to Thugla small pass. This is the place where Khumbu glaciers melt to a raging stream, as well the junction of Dingboche and Pheriche trails. From Thugla a climb of less than an hour reaching a high ridge, a place with memorial monuments of unfortunate climbers. After a short rest continue to walk on a gradual path to Lobuche, a small settlement with several nice lodges.

Today is an adventure to our main major highlights, start the day early morning with a pack light lunch. Walk on a wide valley and then climb up towards a rocky moraine above the Khumbu glacier. A walk leads to a wide sandy field at Gorakshep, located beneath high Kalapathar hill and Mt. Pumori. After a refreshing stop, the trek continues heading east on a faint path over rocks and boulders. Then finally reaching Everest base camp, stand beneath the world’s highest peaks and close within Khumbu Ice-Fall. Although the view of Mt. Everest lies hidden only the tip of Everest can be seen from the base camp. But the feeling of being at base camp is an overwhelming experience enclosed by towering peaks of Nuptse, Lhotse, and Lingtrin. After a grand adventurous walk to base camp, return journey to Gorakshep for an overnight halt in one of its best lodges.

Rising early morning before breakfast a steep climb for a few hours to the top of Kalapathar Rocky Hill. For the hard effort rewards you with breathtaking views of Mt. Everest at the closest distance includes an array of giant peaks that surrounds the top. After a great wonderful moment achieving all the highlights downhill to Gorakshep for breakfast, and then downhill to Thugla. From Thugla, the route diverts towards Pheriche valley, then on a gradual walk to Pheriche a small settlement with many good lodges. Overnight in one of its best lodges facing views of Cholatse, Taboche, and Ama Dablam, at Pheriche HRA health post located (Himalayan Rescue Association).

A long day walk to Namche Bazaar, but easy as you lose altitude every hour. Start early morning after a hearty breakfast, following down to a river with a short climb to a ridge. Downhill continues to a bridge after walking past Pangboche village, climb for a few hours back into trees. As the climb finally ends on top at Tengboche and the monastery, probably a refreshing stop for lunch. From Tengboche on the downhill to a river with short steep up to a winding wide path. Walk follows with short down and ups to Namche Bazaar for an overnight halt in the comfort of luxury hotels.

Another long day and the last walk of the adventure, on leaving Namche head downhill to Dudh Koshi River. From the river bed with a short climb to Sagarmatha National Park entrance and exit point. Walk from here on pleasant gradual trail crossing bridges to Phakding for a possible lunch stop. The afternoon trek continues with the last climb to Lukla for a final overnight stop around Khumbu and Everest area.

Morning as per the flight time for Kathmandu, a short walk to Tenzing & Hillary airport in Lukla. After checking in and then boarding a small aircraft for a sweeping scenic flight to Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu domestic terminal transfer back to your hotel with time for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

Last day in Nepal the land of high Himalayas with amazing beautiful country landscapes. As per international flight time, our staff and guide transfer you to the airport for homeward bound. After a wonderful experience on Mount Everest Base Camp Luxury Trekking.
