In this peak climbing journey, you will scale the Pisang Peak, one of the popular trekking peaks in Annapurna region for mountain climbers. This is a moderate level of climbing and you do not need to have previous climbing experience. Our guides will brief you on the essentials of climbing. This trip package involves trekking along with peak climbing.

The trip involves trekking around Manang region and visits to Muktinath. Muktinath, meaning God of Salvation in the local language, is one of the major religious places in Nepal. The 108 water sprouts and abundant fossils found in this area make it very special for the tourists as well as religious people. In addition, reaching Thorong La Pass, the world’s highest and widest pass at the height of 5,416m/17,764ft is another highlight of this trip.

Itinerary

We receive you from the Tribhuvan International Airport with a warm welcome and take you to the hotel in Kathmandu. After getting fresh and taking some rest, we host a welcome dinner for you at the finest restaurant in the city with Nepali cuisine. You will then have some time to take rest. Later in the late evening, if you like you can take a stroll around the city. Night at the hotel.

Today you will be visiting the office of Nepal Ascent Treks at Thamel. You will get to meet our team including the guides who will be accompanying throughout the trip. Also, you will get introduced with the team of trekkers who will be going on the trip together. Then, there will be briefing about the trek by our team members. You might then spend the rest of the day by spending the time in one of the best restaurants in the city or go for sightseeing around the city.

The journey begins early in the morning. We will get on a bus and drive west from Kathmandu. We will get to enjoy the unique and beautiful landscape of Nepal as we move ahead along the Trishuli river. The drive will pass through hills, valleys, forests and villages. We will move past Pokhara, the city of lakes and head for Dharapani, a beautiful village in Manang district. Once at Dharapani, we will take rest and spend the night there.

We start our journey early in the morning leaving Dharapani behind and walking towards Chame. We stay for the night at Chame. . We can also enjoy the nice view of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II and IV. Moving further ahead we will be passing through number of hot water springs along the way. We might as well get relaxed at these hot springs. We will continue the journey and after a while reach the destination. Overnight at Chame.

We will start the trek with the uphill climb through the pine forest. After a while we will reach the rocky area at a nice height. We will be greeted by great views of mountain peaks along the journey. After a while the trail takes downhill turn. We will climb down for a while and reach a hill. From here walking further we will finally take us to Upper Pisang. We will be spending our night here.

Today is the acclimatization day set aside for the purpose of acclimatization. As the altitude increases gradually, it is essential that we adjust our body to the surrounding and to prevent any possible Acute Mountain sickness (AMS). For better result it is required that we get involved in some form of physical activity. For this, we will walk around the forest and grassland. We will spend our day thus and spend the night at Upper Pisang.

We will begin the day with the uphill climb. We will move ahead through the usual trekking route, passing through the forest and grassland. The grassland offers the picturesque view and e will spend some time roaming around the area. This is the area where the base camp is situated. We can see the Pisang Peak looming in the background. We will then set up our camp there. Night at Pisang Peak Base Camp.

From the base camp we will climb uphill to the high camp. After the climb, we will set up our camp at the high camp. Later, a brief training will be provided on the ways and techniques required for climbing the peak and proper ways of using the climbing gears and ropes. You will also be provided information on safety measures to be followed during the climb. You are not required to have prior climbing experience and the training provided by our guides will be enough to scale the peak. We will stay for the night at high camp.

Today is the big day. We will be climbing Pisang Peak all the way to summit and get back. We will begin the climb in the early morning. We will have to climb along the steep rocky surface. We will have to use ropes at several places around steep rocky regions and sloppy areas. It requires a great caution to climb the peak. Once at the peak, we get relieved and enjoy being at the top of the peak. The surrounding view of Annapurna massif is quite splendid to observe. We will take pictures together and spend some time at the top and then get back to the base camp for the night.

We will set aside a day for any possible contingencies. In case our planned itinerary gets delayed due to some weather conditions or unavoidable circumstances, this day will make up for that. As it is most likely that weather at the mountains usually gets bitter and it is unexpected.

Today we will leave Pisang Peak Base Camp and head for Manang valley. Once at the juncture, we choose the trail that will take us through Geru to Upper Pisang. We walk along the trail enjoying the extraordinary view of Mount Annapurna, Pisang peak and many others. We walk further ahead towards Manang enjoying the cool breeze. Once at Manang, we might as well visit Barge monastery there. We will spend our night at Manang.

We will walk past Manang through the usual trekking trail that passes through a stream before reaching the Tenki village. The uphill climb ahead will bring us to Marshyangdi valley. From here, we will be walking through the forest and grassland area. Then the trail takes uphill turn and we reach a small village called Ghunsa. We continue walk along the grazing land, cross the river, walk past mani walls and then finally reach the village of Yak Kharka. We will spend our night at the village.

We begin the trek leaving Yak Kharka behind and crossing the wooden bridge that will take us to Ledar village. There is a landslide area on the way and we have to be extra careful in this area. We then walk ahead enjoying the view of Kone Khola on our way. From here, we will have to climb further uphill passing through the huge cliffs on the way. The climb will bring us to Thorong Phedi. From this nice height, we can enjoy the grand beauty of number of surrounding peaks. We will then prepare our stay for the night at Thorong Phedi.

We start our walk leaving Thorong Phedi behind and towards Thorong Base Camp. We then walk uphill towards Thorong La pass. It is the world’s biggest pass. From there the trail takes us through Thorong Khola and passing Champarbuk. Further ahead we reach a barren and hilly area. From there the walk will take us to Muktinath. It is the place with huge religious significance both for Hindus and Buddhists. There are many other temples around the area. People take bath in the 108 water sprouts with a belief that it will clean away the sins and consider the water holy. We will explore the area and spend the night at Muktinath.

Today we will be heading towards Jomsom. We will pass through many villages on our way to Jomsom. We take a walk downhill and then along the bank of Kaligandaki river. We might have to face the strong wind on our way to Jomsom. We pass through Jhong and Putak on our way. We also get to enjoy the beauty of Jhong Khola. We then leave the trail to upper Mustang and catch the trail to Kagbeni. From there we head downhill towards Ekle Bhatti and finally to Jomsom. Upon reaching Jomsom we will take rest and prepare for our night stay at the lodge there.

We will take an early flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. We then spend the day exploring the lake city and other religious, historical and tourist places around. We will be spending the night in a lodge at Pokhara.

Today we head back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. We take good rest and soothe our aching muscles. We also muse over the exciting trek we had. At Kathmandu we will organize farewell dinner for you and celebrate successful completion of trek and prepare for final departure.

Today is the final day and we get ready for the departure. We offer you the facility to drop at the Tribhuvan International Airport. We exchange final greetings and wishes and hope to see each other next time as well. We wish pleasant journey and bid the final goodbye.
