Mera Peak (6,461m/21,190ft) is one of the famous trekking peaks in Nepal widely known for climbing. If you love to climb mountains Mera Pera climbing can offer you a wide variety and number of exciting experiences. You will be walking through the trekking trail before you get to the base camp. From the base camp, you climb to the high camp and then finally to the summit. Once you reach the summit stunning view of Mount Everest, Mount Cho Yu, Makalu, Nuptse, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and various others can be viewed. This trek is challenging than other treks as it includes climbing of the peak to the summit. You must be in good physical health but no prior experience of scaling up mountains is required to undertake this journey as it is not difficult to climb and very little technical knowledge will be enough. Our experienced guides will orient you before climbing the peak. In addition to exploring the peak and base camp area, the trek will involve experiencing the great beauty of mountainous peaks in the Khumbu region including Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, and many others. In addition to enjoying the peak climbing, you will also have the chance to explore around Makalu Barun National Park area and if lucky might spot some rare animals as well.
The trek will also take you through the villages before heading for the summit. You will be walking through Sherpa villages where you will receive warm hospitality from the Sherpas, often known as mighty climbers. Local hot beverages are served at tea houses along the way with traditional Nepali cuisine. They are sure to fill your taste buds with some unique flavors. Although the community life is not so prosperous, the service they provide is homely and welcoming. Ancient monasteries are seen decorated with prayer wheels and prayer flags which exhibit the religious inclination of Sherpa people towards Buddhist culture.

Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport we offer you pick up facility from the airport and manage your stay at the most comfortable hotel in the city. You get to meet the team of trekkers and together we prepare for the trek. At the evening we offer you lavish welcome dinner with authentic Nepali Cuisine.
We offer you short trip to historical and cultural sites around Kathmandu valley: Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa and Pashupatinath temple. You can also do some souvenir shopping during the sightseeing. After sightseeing we head back to hotel and get our clothing and trekking equipments ready and prepare for the trek.
Today we will fly to Lukla from Kathmandu from an early flight. After reaching Lukla we will start the trek on foot. We will head towards Paiya through the forest area. We then come across the bridge over the Handi Khola (river).Crossing the bridge we continue our walk ahead. In a short while we will reach Surke village. From there heading forward the trail bring us to the pass (Chutok La) and finally reach the village of Paiya. We will spend the night there.
From Paiya we will today head towards Pangkoma as the destination for the day. Leaving Paiya we take the downhill trail that will bring us across the bridge over the river. Further ahead we cross kari La pass and head ahead through the rhododendron forest. The trail gets tough and narrower. We then finally arrive at Pangkoma village and stop for the night there.
We leave Pangkoma village and head towards Nigmsa. In a short while we reach Pangkoma pass and from there continue our walk ahead following the downhill trail. The trail then takes us to Peseng Kharka Khola. Passing the river and going for a short walk ahead, we come to Peseng Kharka danda. We again cross one more river before finally reaching Nigmsa. Night at the village.
We leave Nigmsa and continue our trek ahead. We will have to pass through few uphill and downhill trails on our way ahead. We will then reach Ramailo Danda which is situated at the nice height and offers grand view of Mera Peak. Again after walking for quite a while through the uphill and downhill trails we reach the entrance to Makalu Barun National Park. After completion of check in formalities we walk through the Pasang Lhamu trail towards Chetrekhola. We will spend the night at Chetrekhola.
We start the trek early leaving Chetrekhola behind. We walk through the main trail to Mera Peak. The trail then runs alongside Majang Khola. Further ahead we catch the trail along the riverside of Hinku Khola. We walk further ahead and in a short while come across the river. Passing the bridge we finally reach Kothe and get prepare for our night’s stay there.
Leaving Kothe behind we continue our trek by walking alongside the Hinku Khola. We can enjoy the grand beauty of Mera Peak along our walk. We then come across the famous Lungsubma Gompa on our way. We will explore around for some time and again continue our walk and finally come to stop at Tangnang. Night at Tangnang.
Today we will give the day for acclimatization and take rest. We try to adjust our bodies to the change environmental condition and increasing altitude. In order to aid to acclimatization purpose, we will go on a short hike to Charpate Himal Glacier. After enjoying our time there we will return back to Tangnang for the night.
Leaving Tangnang we walk ahead through the glacial trail. The trail takes us to Dig kharka. As we reach higher the surrounding views get more stunning. We can have pleasant sight of Charpate Himal on the way. We will then further climb uphill and pass through number of glacial trails. We then finally reach Khare. From here we get the magnificent close view of Mera Peak. We will append the night at Khare.
The trek starts with the walk through rough, rugged and steep trail. Mera Base Camp is our destination for the day. We will walk through glacial ridges and continue climbing uphill. The walk might get tough today. We will then finally reach Mera Peak Base Camp and stay there for the night.
From the Mera Base Camp today we will head up the High Camp. On the way we will cross Mera La Pass. The walk today is quite tough as we might have to walk through snowy trails. We will walk as further as High Camp and take rest once there. From the High Camp the splendid views of number of peaks like Mount Everest, Munt Makalu, Mount Cho Yu, Mount Lhote, Mount Nuptse, and many others can be enjoyed. We will stay for the night at High Camp.
After the brief orientation on climbing techniques and safety instructions we will start walking ahead from Mera High Camp through the steep trail. We will have to be extra careful while walking on the snowy trail as it might be quite slippery. The altitude gradually increases as we climb higher up. We will have to make use of ropes during the climb if necessary. After climbing for few more hours we will finally reach the summit. You will have the most excellent experience in your life. The grand beauties around will make you feel excited. Stunning view of Mount Everest, Mount Cho Yu, Makalu, Nuptse, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and various others can be enjoyed from the summit. After spending some time enjoying the surrounding beauty and taking pictures, we will head back to Khare, passing through High Camp and Base Camp. Night at Khare.
We will keep one day extra as contingency. Weather at the mountains is unpredictable. In case we might not be able to climb to summit due to bad weather condition, this extra day will make up for that.
We will walk back from Khare to Kothe following the same trail that we took before. Once at Kothe we will take rest for some time and spend rest of the day going for the leisurely walk around the village area. Night at Kothe.
From Kothe we will walk through few uphill and downhill trails. Further ahead we will be walking alongside the Inkhu Khola. Then we come to a junction and from there we catch the trail leading to Thuli Kharka and walk ahead. We will continue our walk until we finally reach Thuli Kharka. We will stop for the night at Thuli Kharka.
Today is the last day of our trek on foot. We will be crossing Zatrwa La Pass on our way. After walking ahead for quite a while we will reach the beautiful Lukla valley. The valley is surrounded by number of peaks. We then climb down to Lukla village. The sight of the village with the magnificent mountain peaks in the background gives the beautiful picture. We will spend our night at Lukla.
Today we will fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla. We will bid final goodbye to the beautiful peaks, landscapes and hills from the flight. Upon reaching Kathmandu you will be driven to the hotel where you can good rest. We will offer you lavish dinner to celebrate successful completion of the trek and then prepare for the departure tomorrow.
Today is the final day and we get ready for the departure. We offer you the facility to drop at the Tribhuvan International Airport. We exchange final greetings and wishes and hope to see each other next time as well. We wish pleasant journey and bid the final goodbye.
