The short Mount Everest Base Camp Trek begins from Lukla and you will be walking through the number of Sherpa villages. You will be staying at lodges and tea houses along the trek. During the trek, you will have a chance to get a closer look at the culture and lifestyle of Sherpa people. Although the community life is not so prosperous, the service they provide is homely and welcoming. Ancient monasteries are seen decorated with prayer wheels and prayer flags which exhibit the religious inclination of Sherpa people towards Buddhist culture.
The vast expanse of the mountainous beauty of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu, and Mount Cho Yo among others, welcome you along the way. Red rhododendron bushes and pine trees add more colour to the walk. Rare species of flora and fauna can be spotted along Sagarmatha National Park, the UNESCO world heritage site. The park is home to rare and endangered species like red panda, wolf, snow leopard and musk deer. Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, we offer you pick up facility from the airport and manage your stay at the most comfortable hotel in the city. You get to meet the team of trekkers and together we prepare for the trek. At the evening we offer you lavish welcome dinner with authentic Nepali Cuisine.
The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla lets you enjoy the beauty of green hills with a background of snowy mountain peaks. The trek begins from Lukla and we head towards Phakding passing through Chheplung village enjoying the sight of Mount Khumbila. We stay for the night at Phakding.
We walk the trail passing through pine forest and crossing Dudh Koshi River. We then reach the entrance to Everest National Park. Moving ahead, we reach Namche Bazar, the famous Sherpa village. From Namche Bazar, we can have sight of Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse. We spend the night at Namche Bazar.
Today, we descend to the Dhudhkosi River where the trail passes through small settlement of Sherpas and along lush rhododendron forest. We then climb steeply 1hour and 30 minutes through the forest to Tengboche. Reaching Tengboche, we get to visit the most famous and largest monastery in the Khumbu region .The magnificent panorama view of the highest mountains on earth - Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Nuptse, kongde and everyone’s favorite mountain Ama Dablam provide a stunning backdrop to the monastery. Rare species of flora and fauna can be spotted in the forest surrounding the monastery. We will spend the night in Tengboche.
We start the trek walking through evergreen forests with pines and conifers. The area is also rich with colorful rhododendron bushes. We then take the trail to Pangboche, crossing Imja river. The trail takes us to famous Pangboche monastery. We again walk ahead and reach Imja valley and from there towards Dingboche from where we get to see the field of various kind of crops like barley, buckwheat, and potatoes, carefully protected from cold winds and animals. We spend the night at Dingboche.
We leave Dingboche and head ahead on our way to Lobuche. On the way we pass through Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche that provides emergency medical services to trekkers in need. We then reach Chupki Lhara which provides a nice view of gigantic peaks. We then walk down to the moraine of Khumbu glacier enjoying the best view of mountains like Khumbutse, Mahalangur Himal, Mount Nuptse, Pumori, and others. We then finally reach Lobuche and spend the night there.
The trail to Everest Base Camp passes through Gorakshep Lake. The walk ahead takes us to Indian army mountaineers’ memorial. Walking through rocky terrain in such high altitude can wear out the tired body. But upon reaching the Everest Base Camp, the spellbinding view of mountain peaks and colorful tents contrasted against the snowy beauty makes you forget the arduous journey. The gigantic peaks like Pumori, Nuptse, and Khumbutse will surely leave you feeling mesmerized for a long time. We will then get back to Gorakshep for the night.
We start our hike early in the morning. After walking some hours we will reach on the top of Kala Patthar (meaning black rock in local language), which is the sunrise viewing point. From the top we get to see 360? views of mountains around with the closest view of Mount Everest. Down below we can see the deep and dangerous Khumbu glacier. Also, we can see the gigantic view of Mount Pumori from the top of Kala Patthar. Mount Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and many other mountains can be viewed up close from the top. We then head towards Pheriche and spend the night there.
We begin the day walking down to Pangboche village and from there follow the trail leading to Tengboche. The trail passes through brightly colored rhododendron trees and juniper trees. Walking ahead we cross Dudh Koshi River and pine forests, enjoying mountainous views along the way. We then reach Namche Bazaar and stay there overnight.
The trek for the day begins with the walk through rocky trail downward toward Dudh Koshi River. We then reach Monjo and from there head towards Phakding. We will continue our walk towards Lukla. On the way, we will get to enjoy the walk through the rhododendron and pine forests and explore the number of chhortens along the way. We will then finally reach Lukla and give a rest to our aching body.
We take a flight back to Kathmandu enjoying the scenic flight and bidding goodbye to the mountains. Upon reaching Kathmandu we might roam around the city for some souvenir shopping. We organize farewell dinner for you and celebrate the successful completion of trek and exchange final greetings and wishes.
Today is the final day and we get ready for the departure. We offer you the facility to drop at the Tribhuvan International Airport. We exchange final greetings and wishes and hope to see each other next time as well. We wish pleasant journey and bid the final goodbye.
